One Source, Two Source(s): Ribs and Tethers

چکیده

We present the unique and challenging case of a radio galaxy in Abell 3266 observed as part MeerKAT Galaxy Cluster Legacy Survey. It has quasi-periodic bright patches along tail which connect to never-before-seen thin transverse extensions, we call “ribs”, reaching up ∼50 kpc from central axis tail. At distance ∼400 host (assuming z=0.0594 redshift 3266) found what appears be triple source with its own apparent at photometric 0.78. Mysteriously, far are connected by series filaments, “tethers”. The tail, tethers also have similar spectra Faraday rotation measures, suggesting that there is only one—quite complicated—source, serendipitous background AGN triple. look possible causes for “rib” “tether” structures, emerging phenomena intracluster medium filaments associated galaxies.

When two sources of fluency meet one cognitive mindset.

Fluency, the subjective experience of ease associated with information processing, has been shown to affect a host of judgments. Previous research has typically focused on specific factors that affect the use of a single, specific fluency source. In the present study we examine how cognitive mindsets, or processing modes, moderate fluency emanating from two simultaneous sources of fluency. As a...

Two Uniform Linear Arrays for Non-Coherent and Coherent Sources for Two Dimensional Source Localization

This paper presents a novel method for the two-dimensional direction of arrival (DOA) estimation based on QR decomposition. A configuration with two uniform linear antenna arrays (ULAs) is employed for the joint estimation of elevation (θ) and azimuth (φ) angles. Q data matrix will estimate the azimuth angle while R data matrix will estimate the elevation angle. The proposed method utilizes onl...

Telomeres, tethers and trypanosomes

Temporal and spatial organization of the nucleus is critical for the control of transcription, mRNA processing and the assembly of ribosomes. This includes the occupancy of specific territories by mammalian chromosomes, the presence of subnuclear compartments such as the nucleolus and Cajal bodies and the division of chromatin between active and inactive states. These latter are commonly associ...

Cosmic-ray Sources and Source Composition

Present data on cosmic-ray elemental and isotopic relative abundances are shown to be unable to distinguish between various models of cosmic-ray sources and their composition. For example, the model of freshly nucleosynthesized material from supernova explosions as the cosmic-ray source is unable to account for some measured, key cosmic-ray elemental abundances. This and two other models are ev...

Inverse source problem and minimum-energy sources.

We present a new linear inversion formalism for the scalar inverse source problem in three-dimensional and one-dimensional (1D) spaces, from which a number of previously unknown results on minimum-energy (ME) sources and their fields readily follow. ME sources, of specified support, are shown to obey a homogeneous Helmholtz equation in the interior of that support. As a consequence of that resu...
